An Accurate and Efficient Algorithm Applied to Vehicle License Plate Location

Abstract: License Plate Recognition(LPR) plays an important role in intelligent transportation system, and the license plate locating is the critical technique in the LPR. An accurate and efficient algorithm to locate vehicle license plate is proposed. The plate is firstly located by gray change which described by calculus of differences, the different types plates is processed by binary algorithm. The experiment results show efficiency and good performance of the algorithm in vehicle license plate location.
